Frankenstein is not so Scrary!

I wanted to make a card that was a little different for the Team Meeting I had last Monday.  So I needed to think outside the box to create this cute Halloween card:

10-17 Frankenstein Card

Earlier in the day, I worked on another card using the Lovely Words Dies.  The negative piece was still on my work table and I noticed that it looked like hair.

Then it clicked...I could make hair for Frankenstien using the Lovely Words Thinlits.  Here is a picture of the cut out piece of Perfect Plum Cardstock.

Lovely Words Die-Hugs-Hair

I cut out the word 'hugs' using Perfect Plum.  I took the negative piece from the 'hugs' die, flipped it over and cut out the hair using the 2" Circle Punch.  Then I cut out a second circle with Old Olive Cardstock.

How I made the ears was cleaver also.  I used the "E" and the "F" from Large Letters Framelits and cut out the center part of each letter.

Frankenstein-Lrge Lttrs

I'm not usually that clever, so when I created my Frankenstein, I was pretty happy.  I hope you have time to play and make creative projects using Stampin' Up! product.

Products Used:

  • Spooky Cat Stamp Set (144749)
  • Large Letters Framelits (141712)
  • Lovely Words Thinlits (143733)
  • 2" Circle Punch (133782)
  • 1/2" Circle Punch (119869)
  • Cardstock:  Old Olive (100702); Perfect Plum (101889); Whisper White (100730); Basic Black (121045)
  • Ink:  Old Olive (126953); Perfect Plum (126963)

I can't wait to send each of my grand kids one of these cards.  They will love it!

Enjoy!

Merry Café Photopolymer Stamp Set

Some people firmly believe that coffee is life. And whether that's you or not, you certainly know someone who feels that way. You should probably get a cup of coffee (or water if that's your thing), buy this peppy set, and start creating.  Pair the Merry Café Stamp Set with the Coffee Café Stamp Set and use it all year long.

Coffee Café Photopolymer Stamp Set

The best thing about the above stamp set is that it's part of the Coffee Café Bundle (bundle and save 10%).  Here are the dies:

Fall is coming!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons (next to Spring).  I think I like fall so much because the weather starts cooling down and the leaves start changing colors that make the scenery so beautiful.

I wanted to copy the changing colors that will happen soon in the card I made today.

Eclipse Fall Card

I've been seeing the Eclipse Technique on Pinterest and have wanted to try it.  I think it turned out great in this fall card...don't you?

Here is how to create an Eclipse Card:

  • Stamp your background design on cardstock of your choosing.  I choose Whisper White and used the leaves from the Colorful Seasons stamp set.  I created the different colors by adding reinkers to a baby wipe (I used Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist).
  • Stamp the leaves on the baby wipe and then stamp them all over the Whisper White cardstock.  You can use the baby wipe over and over several times.
  • Then using the letters from the Large Letters Framelits, I cut out the word FALL.  I added a slightly smaller piece of Tangerine Tango to the back of the Whisper White cardstock.
  • Using our new Mini Dimensionals, add several to each of the back of each of the letters you just cut out.
  • Fit them back into place on the Whisper White cardstock to create the look above.

Product used:

  • Colorful Seasons Stamp Set (143726)
  • Large Letters Framelits (141712)
  • Ink Refills: Tangerine Tango (111841), Lemon Lime Twist (144092), Garden Green (102059), Crushed Curry (131158).
  • Mini Dimensionals (144108)

I hope you enjoyed the Eclipse Card I created.

Thank you for joining me today.

Halloween Treat Tote!

Summer is winding down so my mind switches to fall and, of course, Halloween.  I thought I would share a cute Halloween Treat Tote (cased from Dawn Griffith), that will hold lots of different candies of your choice.

Here is the tote:

Halloween Tote-1 Spooky Night DSP

For this Halloween Treat Tote, I used the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper (144610) and the Spooky Cat Stamp Set (144749)

Halloween Tote-Spooky Night DSP

Here are the dimensions for this tote:

  • Cut a piece of the Spooky Night DSP 2 3/4" x 9".  Add Tear and Tape to the top and bottom of this DSP.
  • Cut two pieces of cardstock 1/2" x 9 1/4" and add this to where you put the Tear and Tape.
  • Cut one piece of cardstock 1/2" x 8" for the handle.
  • Cut one piece of cardstock at 3" x 4" for the base and score at 3/4" on each side.  Clip the ends and use Fast Fuse or Tear and Tape to form the base.  Add Tear and Tape around the base and add the DSP piece around the base to form the purse.  You will need to add another piece of Tear and Tape on the 2 3/4" side to close the end.
  • You can use Fast Fuse or Glue Dots to adhere the handle.
  • Decorate as you wish!

This treat box could be used for any holiday.
